🌟 Our History 🌟
The 100+ Women Who Care movement began in 2006 in Jackson, Michigan, when Karen Dunigan saw a simple but urgent need: baby cribs for local families. She rallied 100 women, each donating $100, and in just one hour they raised more than $10,000—enough to purchase 300 new cribs.
From that first gathering, Karen realized the incredible power of women coming together with a shared purpose. What started as a single meeting quickly grew into a movement. The original chapter now has more than 200 members, and today, hundreds of 100+ WWC chapters exist across the country.
🌟 Our Story in South Florida 🌟
Inspired by this powerful model, 100+ Women Who Care South Florida was launched in November 2012 by Melody Spano and her good friend Beth Azor. The response was immediate—our chapter grew quickly to 100 members, and soon after, new sub-chapters began to form.
By September 2017, we proudly launched our fifth chapter in North Palm Beach County. Today, we are honored to have five thriving chapters in Miami Beach, Broward, South Palm Beach, North Palm Beach, and Jupiter–Tequesta. This growth has allowed us to extend our reach and serve even more nonprofits making a difference in our South Florida communities.
🌟 How It Works 🌟
Each chapter meets once per quarter. At every meeting:
It’s simple, efficient, and deeply impactful. Together, we are women who believe in the power of giving—and the power of community. We are stronger together: making a difference, one meeting at a time.
